Occasionally Crisencio carved with wood that had not been given enough time to cure. Maybe that was the cause of this split. Such splits are rare for his masks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mexicandancemasks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/P1300186.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9698\" src=\"https:\/\/mexicandancemasks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/P1300186.png\" alt=\"P1300186\" width=\"600\" height=\"729\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are no crosses.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mexicandancemasks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/P1300188.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9699\" src=\"https:\/\/mexicandancemasks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/P1300188.png\" alt=\"P1300188\" width=\"600\" height=\"838\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This mask is 8 inches tall, 5\u00bd inches wide, and 5\u00bc inches deep.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mexicandancemasks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/P1300190.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9700\" src=\"https:\/\/mexicandancemasks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/P1300190.png\" alt=\"P1300190\" width=\"600\" height=\"812\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The back is unstained.<\/p>\n<p>Now we will compare two more ducks. The smaller one dates to 2008 while the larger one with the bright yellow bill was carved in 2010.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mexicandancemasks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/P1120116.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9690\" src=\"https:\/\/mexicandancemasks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/P1120116.png\" alt=\"P1120116\" width=\"600\" height=\"469\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When Tom Kolaz purchased the larger mask from Crisencio in 2010, Crisencio informed Tom that this mask depicts a duck that lives in the trees along the banks of the Rio Yaqui.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mexicandancemasks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/P1120082.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9687\" src=\"https:\/\/mexicandancemasks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/P1120082.png\" alt=\"P1120082\" width=\"600\" height=\"1309\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is no forehead cross on this larger duck.
